Matt joined Land Studio in 2022; he brings with him an experience in the design of the public realm and masterplanning of small to medium-scale developments, working on a wide range of projects from concept to delivery. He has a technical background and an interest in regenerative landscapes, reinforced by a creative approach to developing holistic design solutions. His research and design focused on Natural Flood Management and innovative sustainable communities in the Aire Valley Catchment.
"Outside of the studio, I am a keen cyclist and often found bike-packing around North Wales. A cycling trip around the Netherlands in 2019 opened my eyes to the potential impacts well-considered cycle infrastructure can have on society. Making me an advocate for developing well-connected people-focused places at a human scale, I believe functionality within design is equally as important as the aesthetic. We should seek to enhance existing landscapes, providing a sense of place and belonging which reconnects people and nature."
