a new destination in the forest

DELAMERE FOREST

Introduction

We have recently completed a scheme with Forestry England on a brand-new visitor welcome centre at Delamere Forest in Cheshire, the county’s largest area of woodland and a popular destination which gets over 750,000 visitors a year.

Working alongside Willmott Dixon and Chester Design Group, we were invited by Forestry England to design the landscape around the new visitor approach, the new timber-framed visitor welcome centre and the new areas of car parking.

From the new building, visitors will be able to see the new terrace, the connecting orchard and across to Old Pale Hill all set within an extensive framework of new pathways, formal groups of trees and wilder native groupings to create an enhanced, immersive landscape for visitors.
