Lisa was invited to speak at the new CIRIA SuDS Guidance, Enabling Development: getting SuDS right from the start.
Land Studio Director Lisa Sawyer was asked to speak at the launch of the new CIRIA SuDS Guidance, Enabling Development: getting SuDS right from the start.
She focused on how master planners and landscape architects benefit from the guidance.
Over 350 people signed up for the webinar and Lisa joined a panel of speakers all with a passion for SuDS.
Lisa said: “Being part of the steering group on behalf of Land Studio meant that I could pass on my experience of working on developments where SuDS aren't thought about early enough and seeing one of our case studies included within the document was amazing.
“At Land Studio we believe that by integrating landscape architecture, engineering and ecology into the heart of the design process from the outset we believe we can break down silos, reduce inefficiencies in design, unlock more creative resilient solutions and maximise the use of green space which is often limited on site.
“Drainage designs, planting plans and biodiversity reporting don’t just tick regulatory boxes. The outcome of these designs and assessments should become assets that shape the site layout, enrich our communities and help restore natural processes. They need to be fully integrated.”
