We're working on a placemaking project in South Wales.

We recently won a placemaking project with Bridgend County Borough Council for provision of an Improvement Feasibility Study for Parc Calon Lan in Blaengarw, Bridgend.

BCBC have obtained funding for the provision of a feasibility study through the Reach resilient communities programme which is designed to support local communities to undertake local resilience planning, focusing on Health, Climate and Economy.

The feasibility study will provide the required data, knowledge and understanding required to lead to further funding bids for the construction of any opportunities identified as part of the study. The project forms part of BCBC’s succession planning for community led local development on a county-wide level.

Parc Calon Lan has been created on a huge coal washery in the village of Blaeugarw which is at the end of the Garw Valley. A beautiful park with woodlands, a river with large ponds and open spaces used for play.

With footpaths and cycleways connecting it to the rest of the Garw Valley it was evident from our initial site visit that there are further opportunities which could help bring together communities within the valley and help make Parc Calon Lan a destination for those visiting. We are excited to be part of this project and to be working together with stakeholders in the community and BCBC.

We were really impressed with Land Studio. They are creative, a delight to work with and captured our vision and their own vision perfectly.
