Land Studio is proud to mark the completion of our landscape architecture work at Sundew Court, a later‑living residential development in Shropshire for Untold Living. Delivered in collaboration with Total Project Integration, Gaunt Francis Architects, AKS Ward and contractor McPhilips, the project reflects three years of close partnership from concept design in 2023 through planning, tender development and construction.
The landscape strategy is rooted in the site’s local hydrological history, expressed through a series of flowing forms that guide residents seamlessly through the grounds. This approach shaped a network of fully accessible routes and spaces, with smooth, continuous surfacing that supports movement and independence for residents of all abilities.
Planting follows the same gentle, dynamic rhythm. Ornamental, pollinator‑friendly and drought‑resistant species were selected to reduce maintenance while enriching biodiversity and seasonal interest. To the south‑east, a tranquil walking route leads to seating beneath willow, oak and birch, offering a quiet place to enjoy wildlife. To the west, a dedicated growing area provides raised beds for fruit and vegetable cultivation, encouraging social activity and wellbeing. On the eastern side, a generous terrace and sunken social space create a focal point for gatherings, celebrations and everyday connection.
Following our recent final site inspection on behalf of the client, we are delighted with how Sundew Court has taken shape. The development now stands as a welcoming, nature‑led environment that supports later‑living residents through thoughtful design, accessibility and a strong sense of place.
