We’ve completed our 120th camping, glamping and caravan park project
This month we completed our 120th camping, glamping and caravan park project.
Our team design, infrastructure and ecological solutions for leisure sites across the UK - helping park owners diversify, expand and future-proof their visitor offer.
Over the past decade, we have worked on projects ranging from small family-run campsites to larger tourism destinations as the demand increases for nature-based tourism and a greater focus on biodiversity-led design.
Land Studio Director and Landscape Architect Simon Richards, said: “Reaching 120 leisure projects is a testament to our team’s collaborative approach and the industry’s growing commitment to creating high-quality, sustainable visitor experiences.
“In our tenth anniversary, we’re proud to continue helping clients unlock the potential of their landscapes in a responsible and resilient way.
“Often these leisure sites are in Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty or in National Parks. An increasing number of our clients are next generation park owners looking for a more naturalistic landscape approach with more greenery, tree planting, meadows and meandering paths.
“They’re looking to achieve high quality holiday destinations fit for the changing needs of the domestic leisure sector.
“Our landscape appraisals provide clients with a robust strategy in support of a proposed park extension, while our landscape design and ecology work can enhance the biodiversity of a site in support of BNG.
“We’re a multi-disciplinary design studio, and our engineers consider surface water drainage and how it can be efficiently integrated within a site and are brilliant at creating successful foul drainage solutions within the constraints of current regulations.
“We recently worked on a holiday park in North Wales to put together a strong submission, including a robust landscape impact assessment and a layout design with a range of environmental improvements, including nature corridors with woodlands and mixed native hedgerows, which helped to win consent within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
“Another project saw us work on the design and infrastructure work of a new holiday lodge park in Cheshire. Our work included a detailed landscape appraisal, guidance on SuDS features and pedestrian linkages, and suggestions for planting to mitigate views from a nearby canal.
“We also carried out a Flood Risk Assessment and Drainage Strategy in support of the full planning application, and were delighted when it was unanimously approved by Cheshire East Planning Committee.
“We have played a pivotal role in the expansion of a holiday park in Shropshire over a number of years and our work has supported multiple planning applications. This has included landscape design, civil engineering and ecology work to make the best use of the layout of the site to suit its topography, drainage requirements and usage.
“Our measures help the development to harmonise with its surrounding environment, contributing to both ecological sustainability and enhanced visitor experience, and ensuring that the development meets the relevant legal and planning policy requirements necessary to obtain planning permission.”
Reaching 120 leisure projects is a testament to our team’s collaborative approach and the industry’s growing commitment to creating high-quality, sustainable visitor experiences.
