Welcome Dave
We are delighted to welcome a new member to our growing team, Dave Wilson.
An experienced landscape architect, Dave has worked on a number of high-profile schemes in the North West, Wales, London and abroad.
His recent work included designing internal atriums, roof terraces and sky gardens – specifying tropical and temperate planting for high end residential and hotel schemes in the Middle East and North Africa. As a result, he has a real passion for indoor exotic planting.
Dave says: “I’m delighted to join the team at Land Studio at what is a really exciting time for the business.
“The main drivers for my designs are ‘flora & fauna’, and striving to make schemes how schemes as environmentally friendly and sustainable as possible, adding value through landscape wherever possible. I love to explore new places – to be inspired and to see how the art of ‘place making’ is dealt with in different countries and cultures.
“I have a particular love and understanding of horticulture and planting design and often like to use bold swathes of herbaceous perennials, bulbs and ornamental grasses. The seasonal colour changes and textural contrasts are what captivates me.
“When working on a new project, I like to draw upon a site’s history, its topography, and glean any nuggets of inspiration that help to give the scheme a personal connection with its surroundings.
“Most importantly seeing a scheme realised and benefitting the end user is what pleases me the most – whether that’s a restored small pocket park in a housing estate or a visitor centre in the countryside.”
In today’s world of computer and design software, he still likes to use a pencil to draw and be creative.
