A year in plants

Over the course of 2021 we have specified 820 new trees, 8.5km of new hedgerow and almost 36,000 m2 of new native meadow in our designs for clients.

Our planting designs aim to increase the specification of native trees such as Quercus robur (common oak), Acer campestre (field maple) and Carpinus betulus (Hornbeam). We also recommend our native fruit trees, such as Prunus domestica Linnaeus or “Denbigh Plum”.

New hedge mixes are a great opportunity to diversify the planting design for a site and they also provide habitat and food for British wildlife, including species such as Viburnum opulus (Guelder-rose), Euonymus europaeus (European Spindle) and Rosa canina (Dog rose).
