We completed a scheme with Forestry England on a brand-new visitor welcome centre at Delamere Forest in Cheshire, the county’s largest area of woodland and a popular destination which welcomes over 750,000 visitors a year.

Landscape Design

Working alongside Willmott Dixon and Chester Design Group, we were invited by Forestry England to design the landscape around their new visitor approach, a timber-framed visitor welcome centre, café and bike shop and new areas of car parking.

The focus of the multi-phase development project was aimed at enhancing the visitor experience and significantly improving accessibility while preserving the area’s natural beauty.

From the new building, visitors can see the new terrace, the connecting orchard and across to Old Pale Hill all set within an extensive framework of new pathways, formal groups of trees and wilder native groupings to create an enhanced, immersive landscape for visitors.

A second phase saw the creation of off-road mountain bike trails, promoting active lifestyles and enhancing the wellbeing of those who explore the forest.
Land Studio were responsible for developing a concept design into detailed design information for construction which included hardscape and planting designs and a landscape management plan.

We were really impressed with Land Studio. They are creative, a delight to work with and captured our vision and their own vision perfectly.
