Cilcain Memorial Garden, Mold

Cilcain Memorial Garden is located within the village of Cilcain near Mold in North Wales.

The memorial garden was designed to enhance the visitor experience and constructed to compliment the church yard space ensuring that plants and gravel were matched accordingly with appropriate plants for shaded and sunny locations. The space offers an opportunity to sit and reflect with benches and memorial wall art included to enhance the outdoor space. 

Land Studio designed and helped construct the area offering better access into the entrance of the space by removing an existing conifer tree which was blocking the entrance and implicating the natural lighting and views. The design factored in negative, under used spaces and subtly integrated hard and soft areas to create a more appealing place to sit particularly for the sitting area. 

Working on local community projects allows us to firstly to provide spaces which support the wellbeing of the communities in which we live and work but also to provide time and experience which otherwise may be too costly for the project to begin.
