Land Studio were commissioned by Bridgend County Borough Council to provide a Green Master Plan for the Cornelly Community Council area to identify opportunities to enhance biodiversity, strengthen existing green infrastructure and provide an evidence based roadmap for nature based interventions across the area.
Undertaking design based analysis and data collection, GIS mapping of existing habitats and assets, stakeholder engagement with council officers, town and community councils, community groups and statutory bodies and undertaking site walkovers provided the basis of the report.
The outcome of the study provides a green masterplan that provides a plan which enhances quality, quantity, amenities and function of the study area now and in the future to connect people to existing and new green spaces and their community. The outcome of which will aim to inspire people to want to protect these spaces from the effects of climate change and biodiversity collapse whilst being aware of areas that are important to local heritage that might be vulnerable to development.
