Land Studio were commissioned by Conwy Borough Council to prepare concept designs for three well‑used public parks: Tir Prince in Towyn, Cae Llan in Betws‑y‑Coed, and Eden Hall Gardens in Penmaenmawr.

The brief focused on delivering small‑scale, low‑maintenance enhancements that would enrich biodiversity, create new habitats, and offer meaningful ways for local communities and visitors to engage with nature. The aim was to add diversity in structure and species palettes and provide opportunities for local wildlife.

Early site visits and landscape analysis informed the approach, ensuring proposals were sensitive to each park’s historic significance, character, and setting, from Cae Llan’s relationship with the Conwy Valley and Eryri uplands to the terraced, quarry‑influenced landscape of Eden Hall Gardens.

Engagement with local councillors helped shape priorities such as sensory gardens, community orchards, improved accessibility, and opportunities for interpretation.
