Robert Street in Manchester, located in the North of England, was the focus of a proposed scheme aimed at transforming the area into a vibrant public realm with thoughtfully designed roof terraces for residents. 

The masterplan envisions creating a dynamic space that invites people to gather, relax, and enhance their well-being, while also offering opportunities for small events and social interactions.

The site’s south-facing orientation plays a crucial role in the design, allowing for the selection of sun-tolerant plants that create a seamless transition from hard to soft landscaping areas. This careful integration of greenery not only softens the urban environment but also adds visual interest and promotes biodiversity. The project’s overarching goal is to foster a sense of community and belonging by providing a welcoming outdoor space that enhances the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
